What fuel and power does a Dometic tankless RV water heater need?

Dometic tankless water heaters heat water with LP gas and need a 12-volt DC supply to run the control board and ignition. Because the unit fires on demand, it needs steady propane pressure every time a tap opens. A worn or undersized regulator often shows up as fluctuating water temperature or ignition faults. Do I still need to winterize my RV if it has a tankless water heater?

Yes. A tankless water heater holds very little water, but water left in the heat exchanger and lines can still freeze and crack them. Some models have freeze protection while the unit is powered. Freeze protection does not replace winterization when the RV is stored or the batteries are disconnected. Drain the unit according to the Dometic manual, then bypass it or blow out the lines before adding antifreeze.
